Ascophyllum species are brown kelps generally found in the northern Atlantic water. Kelp is the most mineral dense plant on the earth that we are aware of and it is harvested by "mowing" with the use of special boats and then dried before being ground into granules or powder. It is very popular for livestock and should be more popular for pets and people than it currently is.
